Y creo que es importante tratar de identificar diferencias y características comunes para que podamos clasificar los mensajes y percepciones sobre el Cambio Climático que se exponen en los diferentes stands, en las conferencias e incluso las ideas que se escuchan en espacios informales como lo son los pasillos y los lobbys de los hoteles. -

It is about coming together as one community discussing an issue that affects of all. -

Posted on November 26, 2010 | No CommentsEn el marco del Año Internacional de la Juventud, el CICR lanzó el mes de agosto un concurso para Jóvenes Periodistas, donde se invitó a jóvenes de entre 18 y 25 años a presentar un artículo, un ensayo fotográfico, un video o una pieza de radio. Los ganadores tendrán la oportunidad de visitar las delegaciones del CICR en Georgia, Líbano, Liberia, Filipinas y Senegal durante una semana para entrevistarse con jóvenes afectados por conflictos armados y luego hacer un reportaje. -

Posted on November 26, 2010 | No CommentsAs part of the International Year of Youth, the ICRC launched a "Young Reporter" competition, inviting young adults between 18 and 25 to send in an article, photo essay, video or radio piece. The winners will have a chance to travel to ICRC delegations in Georgia, Lebanon, Liberia, the Philippines and Senegal for a week to talk to young people affected by armed conflict and report back to their peers. -
What matters to Seckou Keita?

Brought up by a traditional Griot family in the region of Casamance in southern Senegal, he began learning how to tell stories through music at a very early age. Seckou knows first-hand what armed violence can do to people's lives. That's why he's offered to donate half the proceeds from his CD, "The Silimbo Passage," to the ICRC in order to help the victims of war and conflict. In this photo album, he shares with us some of his favourite personal moments and memories of his beautiful homeland and the people who made a difference in his life. -

Criado en el seno de una familia griot en a región de Casamance, en el sur de Senegal, desde muy pequeño aprendió a contar historias a través de la música. Seckou sabe por propia experiencia lo que la violencia armada puede hacer en la vida de la gente. Por eso, ofreció donar al CICR la mitad de los ingresos por la venta de su CD "The Silimbo Passage", con el fin de ayudar a las víctimas de la guerra y el conflicto armado. En este álbum de fotos, el músico comparte algunos de sus momentos personales y recuerdos favoritos de su hermoso país y de la gente que tuvo una influencia en su vida. -

Posted on October 29, 2010 | No CommentsWhile travelling from highly urbanized and modern Bogotá to and from remote rural areas, ICRC's Marçal Izard witnessed a land full of contrasts: whereas for city dwellers the only glimpse of war was likely to be on a TV screen, for peasants and policemen in the countryside it was natural to stay alert to possible dangers at all times.
