This is the last gallery on the ICRC’s Marçal Izard’s return to Colombia, 10 years after his first mission with the organization there.
While travelling from highly urbanized and modern Bogotá to and from remote rural areas, he witnessed a land full of contrasts: whereas for city dwellers the only glimpse of war was likely to be on a TV screen, for peasants and policemen in the countryside it was natural to stay alert to possible dangers at all times.
